The amount of plastic that we produce is an astonishing 380 million tonnes per year.

An alarming number of this plastic ends up in our oceans. While we might not be able to see a major decrease in the amount of plastic that gets produced, we can definitely help find a way to prevent plastics from ending up in our oceans. Eight million tonnes of plastic getting dumped into the ocean every year can cause detrimental effects too many different aspects of our world. Having ways to prevent these plastics and finding plans to manage where plastic ends up can be small steps towards a cleaner ocean. It is important that we don’t act as though the way we use and dispose of plastic is sustainable because in reality, it is not. We need to make a change because animals, plants and life in our oceans are dying more and more each year.
